Pensacola Beach is a gorgeous area located on Santa Rosa Island, a Barrier Island, in Escambia County, Florida. You'll know you've arrived when you see the beautiful Boardwalk that stretches along the sugar-white sand beach and the famous, huge Pensacola Beach 'beach ball' icon which stretches to the sky. Here on the 'Emerald Coast', fresh seafood abounds in a colorful array of beachfront restaurants such as Crabs Eatery on Pensacola Beach where live music and views of the Gulf of Mexico make this place a top choice with visitors. Also, great food can be found at Jubilee Oyster Bar & Grille, and Peg Leg Pete's heading west toward Fort Pickens. Fort Pickens, on Gulf Islands National Seashore, is a short drive west from Pensacola Beach and is a great day trip chock-full of history. The fort was completed in 1834 and remained in use until 1947. During that time the fort was fired upon twice during the Civil War, held prisoners after the Civil War, and during 1888 it held Apache prisoner, Geronimo.

Pensacola Beach, Pensacola Bay, and the City of Pensacola have a 'small-town feel' with an exciting big-city vibe. Known as the 'City of 5 flags', it represented different ruling governments throughout history: Spain, France, Great Britain, The Confederate States of America, and, of course, The United States. Also known as 'America's First Settlement', artifacts are still being unearthed today by archaeologists. Visitors can see on display items which were found during some of these digs such as cannons used during the Civil War. Drive down Palafox Street and choose the T.T. Wentworth Jr. State Museum of History, catch a baseball game at the new Pensacola Blue Wahoo Stadium overlooking beautiful Pensacola Bay, or rent a boat and watch the Blue Angels do practice flyovers from the bay as they head back to their base at the U.S. Naval Air Station. Pensacola Bay itself is quite interesting in that it has a natural deep water sea port that doesn't have to be dredged, which is unique and unusual for the Gulf Coast area. The first ships sailed into Pensacola Bay in 1559.

Fishing from the shore, pier, or by boat, swimming, snorkeling, or scuba diving, or simply taking a leisurely stroll by the sea oats among the sand dunes on the beach, whether Oceanside or Sound side, Pensacola Beach has something for everyone!!! Come and enjoy the fun!!!
